Remembering Why I Exercise
A simple list for a simple reason....to explain why I run:
1.) My children. I want my kids to understand and appreciate the benefits of exercise and healthy eating. I am a daily role model for my two little ones. They deserve me to be the best I can be.
2.) Myself. I deserve a long and healthy life. I want to be 80 and still climbing mountains with my best friends. I enjoy going to the doctor and having the nurse say "you are a runner," purely based off my vital signs. I need the "me" time...and I choose to spend the "me" time exercising over watching T.V. or other optional hobbies.
3.) My husband. He's an amazing guy. Robert Allen Haidaczuk, Jr., you deserve a wife who will sit in that rocking chair by your side....for as long as we are tired of rocking (knowing our track record, it's about 2.5 seconds).
4.) My mom. She raised me to not quit. She didn't quit on me when times are tough (and boy, they were *tear* tough...really tough). Mom, you deserve a daughter who gives life her all. You gave me life, I'm gonna live it to the fullest.
5.) My friends. I truly have the #bestfriendsever. It's hard being moms and juggling life and fostering friendships. We have a great group of friends who support, love and encourage each other to go further than they thought possible. I enjoy running races (5th year running the Race for the Cure this year....woop woop). My friends deserve the best me...because they are the best to me!
I think that sums it up.... being healthy is a journey, not a destination. It's my goal to make that journey the best possible! Next race, Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon....only 24 days away!
