Perfect Running Hat - No longer MIA

Image
After 10+ years of running, I've officially found the best running hat (well, technically visor). In the past, my hats would shift leaving me looking and feeling off-centered. I loved my Bondibands, but thy don't block out sun rays. I love how cute the Sweatybands look, but they don't really work for seriously hot or long runs. Drumroll please....it's from Sweatvac . It holds my lioness mane out of my face, keeps the sweat out of my eyes, and blocks the sun. All this in a comfy and cute visor. The company sells darling hats too. I choose the visor option for extra ventilation.      I ordered my hat from Amazon ...and love it!

Accountable Kids

Image
It may seem to be a simple goal, but it's a priority important goal of mine.  I will raise children who are respectful and accountable for their actions.  Tyler is only 4 (almost 5...sniff) and already he will say things like "you made me do xxx."  I'm always quick on the draw to say, "no Tyler, you chose to do xxx."  We recently purchased a kids responsibility system.  My kids might only be 3 & 4 yrs old, but they have chores.  They are expected to help around the house with manageable tasks for their age, such as wiping off the table and putting away their clothes.  Avery is all girly and loves to help with household tasks.  I expect that will change quickly around her 11th birthday, or so. Tyler enjoys being rewarded after he helps.  Just this morning I gave the dog water in her bowl.  He was sooo upset that he lost the opportunity to earn a star.  Again, another lesson learned....the early bird gets the worm.  I rea...

Remembering Why I Exercise

Image
A simple list for a simple reason....to explain why I run: 1.) My children.  I want my kids to understand and appreciate the benefits of exercise and healthy eating.  I am a daily role model for my two little ones.  They deserve me to be the best I can be. 2.) Myself.  I deserve a long and healthy life.  I want to be 80 and still climbing mountains with my best friends.  I enjoy going to the doctor and having the nurse say "you are a runner," purely based off my vital signs.  I need the "me" time...and I choose to spend the "me" time exercising over watching T.V. or other optional hobbies. 3.) My husband.  He's an amazing guy.  Robert Allen Haidaczuk, Jr., you deserve a wife who will sit in that rocking chair by your side....for as long as we are tired of rocking (knowing our track record, it's about 2.5 seconds). 4.) My mom.  She raised me to not quit.  She didn't quit on me when times are tough (and boy, they were *tear* toug...

Answered Prayers

Image
As I look at all the pictures from Easter weekend, I cannot help but think of all the answered prayers in my life.  First and foremost, I prayed for a man like my husband.  I had an image of a supporting, loving husband who treated me with respect and adoration....and God delivered Bob.  I was sooo nervous about moving across the country (again) and leaving my family behind for my new life (again), but I was blessed with amazing old and new friends.  I don't know how I would survive without my sisters.  I prayed for healthy children, and once again, blessed with Tyler and Avery.  Every morning, day and night, I prayed that Tylers speech would improve so he isn't hindered...and it has!  I'm extremely blessed!  Our life is fantastically chaotic and sometimes borderline insane, but I wouldn't want it any other way.
