The Golden Rule

Is this not the best resignation letter ever, written by William Faulkner??  I'm not in a position that I could ever resign from my day-job... but if I could, this letter is a good starting point.  I think it points the finger that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.  It goes back to the golden rule in the Bible, Matthew 7:12, So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  I remember a large poster as a kindergardener with that saying (minus the biblical reference). I'm hoping the saying is still taught in today's educational system (fingers and toes crossed).

NYC...and then a furlough

Molly was great at taking these "us" pics Well, I have to say this weekend was fun filled and my bubble was burst a tad this morning.  In the grand scheme of things, personally I'm incredibly blessed each and every day, furlough or no furlough.  At this current hour of 10pm, we don't have a resolve or Continued Resolution Authority (CRA) to fund our government employees.  I'm worried about employees with a sole income.  I'm worried about the single parents.  I'm worried about all the "missed" items in the event of a furlough. I consider myself blessed to support the warfighter everyday.  All the people I work with are passionate and honored to be a Civil Servant.  As government employees, we all raised our right hand and accepted the oath to serve the President of the United States and his appointees.  With that said, my family and I will just keep praying for those in need and decision makers during this time of fiscal uncertainty. February...month of <3

What an amazing, beautiful & fast pace world we live in. I'm not sure how the month of January zoomed by, but February has arrived without notice (ok, other than the calendar).  Today was a sunny day spent watchingTyler's first   basketball game, a trip to Oxon Hill National Park, a quick 5 mile run, homework & move night. Along the way, I ran into an old friend who is a Wounded Warrior looking for help transitioning into the civilian workforce. It's sooo refreshing to chat with an old friend like no time has passed. Sharing trials & tribulations face-to-face really makes problems manageable.  Bring on the month of love for great friends, family, & all those who support us all!
