Ciao Bella!

This European adventure just continues to get better as each day passes.  I'm in awe of the stories we capture and carry from each country.  Our most recent vacation was to Italy.  The adventure took us from Rome to Sorrento & Positano.

We flew out of Naples after eating our share of pizza, desserts, and delicious wine.  My favourite story included the ones from our Rome-to-Sorrento driver.  It was 2 hours, time well spent, in the car listening to a local chat about his love for the Italian countryside and the new modern Pope.

Pictures tell the story better than words - so I'll stop with my chatter.

This is Us - Vatican City - the smallest country in the world.

We didn't spar -- but it sure was fun to learn about those who did.

The Isle of Capri -- stunning blue waters, cliffs, and a joyful boat ride.

We chose to have a tour guide to keep our kids interest and ensure our vacation was a learning experience.  I have to say - that was a great decision.  All of the HaidaKing kids loved the guided tours.

Positano, Italy - and we saw much needed sunshine and the kids played in the sand!  I can't think of a better way to spend our last day in Italy,

I might have a crush on this Vespa  - it's so very Italian and makes me smile.

A simple list for a simple reason....to explain why I run: 1.) My children.  I want my kids to understand and appreciate the benefits of exercise and healthy eating.  I am a daily role model for my two little ones.  They deserve me to be the best I can be. 2.) Myself.  I deserve a long and healthy life.  I want to be 80 and still climbing mountains with my best friends.  I enjoy going to the doctor and having the nurse say "you are a runner," purely based off my vital signs.  I need the "me" time...and I choose to spend the "me" time exercising over watching T.V. or other optional hobbies. 3.) It's a Wonderful World

This month of April really kicked off with many trips.  Bob traveled TDY to Greece for a few weeks. Our family really missed having the extra TLC in our home.  Although everything get's accomplished (school & after school adventures), I personally feel like a car chugging on 3 wheels.  It makes it down the road - but we sure miss that 4th wheel. This picture was added to the AFNorth "Month of a Military kid" wall.  I simply love that Cammie wanted to be in the photo too :D  Avery was wearing her pjs - that's just life.  Dad was heading out the door. The kids started swim lessons at the JFC-Brunssum, Netherlands pool.  I'm told the Dutch take kids swim lessons very seriously and even follow a certification program due to all the canals in Holland.  After being on the wait-list for 6 months, I was excited for Tyler and Avery to learn proper strokes.  Tyler already had swim lessons in school but this class actually seems to encourage ...
