Today, Tyler Jordan went for his 6 month check-up. We had a female U.S. Navy doctor this time, RDML Larson. She was extremely pleasant and commented on how well Tyler was socializing. He pretty much babbled the entire visit and smiled at her every time she looked his direction. She gave us tips on getting Tyler to sleep through the night and suggested to start him on eating lunch. As a mother who nursed two young boys, she understood my plight and seemed very empathetic to my needs for sleep. Our issue is a minor but complex problem, Tyler prefers nursing over the bottle. He's taught himself to be hungry more at night than during the day. She said that Tyler also prefers the connection to his mommy at night, since his needs for mommy aren't there during the day. It really tugs at my heart strings to think that my little guy misses me and I can't be here...but, such is life! We decided today to have Daddy bring Tyler to a play group on base every week during the day. The play group meets on base every Tuesday from 0930-1030, so if you know of anyone with a baby...Tyler and Daddy will be there. He loves seeing and being around other children his age, so I'm hoping that the social interaction will help his development. I'm also going to be better at scheduling play dates on the weekends. Tyler is still off the charts on length and in the 95th percentile for weight. He's a large 20lbs 15 ounces and 30 inches long. That's the size of an average 11 month old baby!!! Tyler is napping right now, his poor chubby legs are probably sore from the 5 shots he received today!

I love all of these pictures!!! That one of him on the scale is so CUTE! And the one of him laying on the exam table! And the one of him....okay you get the idea! :) You look awesome and your hair looks awesome too! :) LYB!

It's a Wonderful World

This month of April really kicked off with many trips.  Bob traveled TDY to Greece for a few weeks. Our family really missed having the extra TLC in our home.  Although everything get's accomplished (school & after school adventures), I personally feel like a car chugging on 3 wheels.  It makes it down the road - but we sure miss that 4th wheel. This picture was added to the AFNorth "Month of a Military kid" wall.  I simply love that Cammie wanted to be in the photo too :D  Avery was wearing her pjs - that's just life.  Dad was heading out the door. The kids started swim lessons at the JFC-Brunssum, Netherlands pool.  I'm told the Dutch take kids swim lessons very seriously and even follow a certification program due to all the canals in Holland.  After being on the wait-list for 6 months, I was excited for Tyler and Avery to learn proper strokes.  Tyler already had swim lessons in school but this class actually seems to encourage ...
